A tiny medieval jewel proudly included in the list of the most beautiful villages of Italy.
Originally named after figue trees of the hills nowadays its name is indissolubly connected to wine and in particular to Chianti classico.
The fortification is well preserved thanks to the isolated location at the top of a hill overlooking the valley of the Greve river and the Chianti hills’ crest,and it is still enclosed by an oval ring of walls.

The wines of Montefioralle Castle in the month of may, Lamole perfumes in june, in September the Chianti Classico Expo which is the most important occasion for a visitor to learn about local food and wine , meet the wine growers and visit local winemakers.
One weekend in March ( around March 19th ) is reserved to the local festival dedicated to the famous “fritella di riso “ a deep fried rice dessert which is an expression of the local farmer culture.
